Forbes Advisor provided some tips on how to avoid scammers when shopping online:
- If you are buying a cheap product from an unfamiliar website, check when it was created. Most scammers usually use new web pages.
- Check if retailers offer their email addresses, phone numbers, and other contact options.
- Before purchasing the item, check how much the difference is between its discounted price and the original cost. If it is too good to be true, then be cautious.

These include the Google Pixel 6 Pro with a $200 discount during Amazon Prime Day 2022.
