Riot Games is now on the hunt for a new Game Design Manager, and this new position at the company would center on developing its famous online shooter game, "Valorant." It only means one thing, and that Riot Games is planning to bring the highly-rated free-to-play first-person shooter game to greater heights, and that is console gaming for its two-year run.

There are many arena shooter games available on the consoles now, with the titles seeing critical acclaim on these platforms, something which Riot Games aims to tap in this new venture.

A new job listing for Riot Games was recently spotted over at Hitmaker's online platform, and they looking for a new Game Design Manager for the game, "VALORANT." In the listing, it talked about taking "VALORANT" in new directions, with its focus on PCs to transition over to console gaming, and still capturing the game's very essence and soul.

The listing clearly states that Riot Games aims to deliver a console version of its hit online arena shooter game for the public, and it seems like there would not be many changes from the original PC game.

The job offer is still open for the public to apply for, especially if they are inclined to work on the project, have their qualifications fit the search, and bring "VALORANT" over to the consoles.

'Valorant' For Consoles? When Is It Coming?

According to ComicBook Gaming, the addition of the new Game Design Manager would start the game's development for its console availability, delivering the "VALORANT" experience to more gamers.

Riot did not specify which consoles are included in this development, as it could either be for the PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Valve's Steam Deck, or all of these.

Nevertheless, there are no timelines mentioned by the company regarding its release.

Also, there might be hints regarding the game's cross-gen compatibility, in the job listing's responsibilities, saying "Anticipate the needs of players on all relevant platforms and understand the nuanced differences between them."

'Valorant' and its Influence on Gaming

"Valorant" may not be the first online arena shooter game in the business, but it has popularized the genre in many ways, especially as it is a free-to-play title, much like other Riot Games' releases. One of the most iconic things about "Valorant," is it was released the amidst the pandemic, and it gave gamers a chance to explore it more with the extra time they have.

A rival in the industry was released four years earlier than "Valorant," and it is none other than Activision Blizzard's famed "Overwatch" which already saw a massive player base since its 2016 release.

Nevertheless, "Valorant's" best offer is that it is free for all to download and play on their devices, and it is a massive deal-breaker for some, especially in the gaming world.

Now, Riot Games is looking to step up the gaming experience of its famous shooter game, with a hint that it is coming to console and explore a new community for gamers to enjoy. It is unknown when the company would complete its transition and project, especially with its development that also asks for its cross-gen compatibility.
