MediaTek introduced Dimensity 9200 four weeks ago which was the most recent chipset that can go at par with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen. However, the company is showing no signs of slowing down following the launch of another processor dubbed Dimensity 8200.
According to the latest report, the second-generation 4nm chip is expected to come to some flagship phones this month. It might not be as powerful as the previous model, but it still packs a punch, especially for those who want to buy cheap smartphones with fast processors.

The 4nm chip is expected to be available on select flagships this month.
It did not take a long time for MediaTek to unveil a new chip after launching the Dimensity 9200 back in November. At that time, rumors said that the Vivo X90 Series would sport this next-gen SoC.
XDA Developers reports that the Dimensity 8200 SoC will be equipped with an Arm Mali G610 MC6 GPU. When it comes to CPU, the newest chip will arrive in three options:
- 1x Arm Cortex-A78 @3.1GHz
- 3x Arm Cortex-A78 @3.0GHz
- 4x Arm Cortex-A55 @2.0GHz
When it comes to the display, it will have an FHD+ display which can go for up to 180Hz, as well as WQHD displays for up to 120Hz.
MediaTek will also use the Miravision 785 along with the Intelligent Display Sync. 2.0 and 4K AV1 Video Decoding.
Additionally, MediaTek includes the APU 580 to maximize the efficiency of AI within the system. The company will use Quad-channel LPDDR5 for its memory.

Global Launch of Dimensity 8200 Devices
It should be noted that MediaTek already confirmed the arrival of the Dimensity 8200 devices this month. These flagship smartphones with this chip will soon be available globally before or after Christmas, but not after the New Year.
Meanwhile, Tech Times reported on Wednesday, Dec. 7 that the supply of the iPhone 14 Pro won't be that good this Christmas.
As the manufacturing plant of Apple in Zhengzhou continues to struggle because of COVID-19 lockdowns, there might be longer waiting times for customers who want to purchase the newest iOS-based handset.
In this case, the shipments for the iPhone 14 Pro are expected to be lower than usual. If the lockdowns ease up, the supplies might gradually return to normal. Still, you can look for other alternatives in the meantime.
