Does it mean that iOS smartphones are more vulnerable to theft?
For the past years, criminals have been able to find different methods to steal expensive devices from people.
They are either stealing it physically or using hacking methods.
Because of this, consumers tend to seek insurances that protect them from possible thefts; it seems like iPhone users are the ones mostly looking for insurance services.
iPhone Tops the Google Search List in Terms of Gadget Insurance!
According to Digital Information World's latest report, iPhone is the number one gadget for Google Search related to electronics insurance.

One Insurance, a U.K.-based insurance provider, said that iPhones topped its list of searchers in November up to date, with over 40,000 searchers.
Google Pixel comes in next, with more than 1,500 searchers. Experts concluded that these details show that people are keen to protect themselves from any iPhone theft.
However, they clarified that this doesn't show that thieves prefer the brand Apple when it comes to stealing smartphones.
Is iPhone More Vulnerable to Theft?
BU Today provided some reasons thieves prefer stealing iPhones over other smartphone brands.
Boston University's Executive Director of Information Security Quinn Shamblin said iPhones could attract more criminals.
This is because iOS smartphones have high resale values. She further explained that stolen iPhones could be sold for up to $200 per unit in the black market.
Now, if ever your Apple handset has been stolen, the iPhone maker provided the safety measures you need to follow:
- Report the missing iPhone to local law enforcement as soon as possible.
- Try erasing your iOS device remotely.
- Always inform your wireless carrier about the theft.
- Try marking your stolen iPhone as a lost device. This will allow you to lock it remotely with a passcode.
