Apple iPhone 14 Emergency SOS via Satellite

As per the latest news story by Mac Rumors, the iPhone maker introduced its new feature, aptly named the Emergency SOS via Satellite, last November.

The iOS 16.1 update brought the feature to iPhone 14 users, allowing them to reach out to emergency services even without WiFi or mobile data connection.

In this day and age, wherein connectivity has been highly developed, cellular connections still skip some rural areas in far-flung places. However, satellite connectivity fills this gap, connecting folks even if they are in sites that have no signal.

Instead, as the name of the new Apple feature highly suggests, it contacts rescue teams via satellite connectivity of the new Apple flagship phones.

The new feature is best in scenarios wherein iPhone users ended up stranded in rural locations with no signal. In such situations, they could easily activate their SOS function to ask for help from the authorities despite the lack of cellular connection.
