Google Home Faces Issues When Adding/Connecting New Smart Home Devices
As per the latest report by Android Police, some Google Home users are now having some trouble connecting their smart home devices to the app. It sure is pretty frustrating as it should help control and pair them to your smartphone seamlessly. But an error is now preventing them from doing so.
The news outlet notes that Google is revamping its Home app in the past weeks. There are new features to look forward to. But it looks like some older ones have ended up being janky.
According to The Verge, the renowned tech giant began allowing its users to test out the newly designed Google Home app last November.
The revamped version brings a couple of new features right off the bat. It includes offerings like the new Favorites page, which gives users a shortcut to their "favorite" cameras and other devices.
That's not all. It also comes with a new Spaces feature, allowing users to check their devices under categories. For instance, all lighting will be under a single section.
These are just some of the new features. But besides these welcome offerings, it seems that the updated look is giving some users problems.

For instance, Android Police reports that personal Google Home routines have vanished into thin air. And now, some folks are complaining that they are struggling to add or connect smart devices to its app.
As per the news story by 9to5 Google, some users end up seeing a "could not reach" error message when connecting their devices to the app. The app tells them to try again. But some users are saying that the issue persists even with multiple attempts.

Which Smart Home Devices Are Affected?
9to5 Google notes that the issue seemingly affects some of the popular devices out there. Users point out that the connection error persists with Nanoleaf, Govee Home, and Samsung SmartThings.
Is There Any Fix for the Smart Home Linking Error?
It is worth noting that Google has yet to publicly address the Google Home linking error. So it remains to be seen if the tech giant is already working to fix it.
For now, Android Police notes that users can try to uninstall Google app updates in hopes of fixing the error.
