XRAI Glass and Nreal Air's latest business partnership could revolutionize the limits for the hearing-impaired.

A newly developed software from XRAI allows deaf people to generate conversations as subtitles on the augmented reality glasses by Nreal Air.

However, this technology is not limited to persons with disabilities. With the XRAI Glass app, the possibilities for speech-to-text technologies are endless, as users can virtually subtitle almost any aspect of their daily life.

CBS reports that this technology can be used to help people communicate, summarize meetings, recall people's names, and more.

What is XRAI Glass?

The ability to read the verbal speech in real-time through closed captioning will be available to users of the newly developed augmented reality (AR) smart glasses, which are phone-tethered.

The XRAI Glass software transforms sounds into a conversation with subtitles, which is subsequently displayed on the wearer's glasses screen. Advanced voice recognition features in the program can tell who is speaking and will soon be able to translate languages, voice tones, accents, and pitch.

Through the app, people who have different levels of hearing loss and may experience social isolation, as a result, may find it easier to follow conversations. XRAI Glass Partnership With Nreal Air

The maker of consumer-grade AR glasses, Nreal, and XRAI Glass, have partnered up to produce an innovative solution for the hearing-impaired.

"This is a momentous day for our team. We are so proud of the ability this innovative technology has to enrich the lives of people who are deaf and have hearing loss, so that they can maximize potential." Dan Scarfe, XRAI Glass CEO, said.

The Nreal smart glasses, partnered with the XRAI software, work through an OLED screen that compliments the AR setting, where users can stream and play games on PC, Android, iOS, and consoles. Additionally, the XRAI app is compatible with TV viewing as well and can be useful for watching media without subtitles.

According to Business Wire, the spectacles will reportedly cost £399.99. During the public preview, there will be no cost for the program, and the price after the public preview will be determined by feedback from pilot users.

XRAI Glass to Reportedly Reach Out To Different Sectors

According to Wired, a select group of pilot users will have access to the software during the public preview utilizing the Google Play Store pre-flight experience.

During a two-month trial period, the XRAI team will regularly ask for feedback and learn from its customers in order to improve the software's AI skills and responsiveness. The software will start expanding beyond audio to provide a multi-modal transcription experience.

XRAI Glass also aims to reach other markets where the software could prove helpful. These recommended sectors include hospitality, law enforcement, and education.
