Google is on its way to rolling out a new security option for its Chrome browser regarding giving the public a chance to block out HTTP downloads on the web. This is because there is a rapidly growing use of HTTPS downloads available, and with this encryption, it offers a more secure experience for users in their internet needs.

This new security option would focus its sights on "insecure" HTTP downloads online, something that would give users an alert for the different files or items that are on their way to appearing on one's device.

According to a new Chromium code review from Google, there is a new feature coming in the future, and it is a security option to give users a chance to block out downloads from "insecure" HTTP downloads.

Moving forward, there is a change for Google's Chrome browser for more privacy and security on their end with this new integration.

The change would focus on giving out a warning or straight-up blocking these downloads from taking place, focusing on integrating this implementation on the Chrome flag.

Soon, users will no longer see the "Secure" and lock icon on their browsers to let them know a website's security with the future HTTPS encryption for modern websites. This is also to affect downloads soon, hence the security option.

HTTPS Downloads to be Default?

With the internet's growth in the present, the focus now is on HTTPS implementation online, especially as more websites use this encryption for their pages. Moreover, this comes as more websites handle more of users' data and information online, with the need for this higher-level encryption being a standard among most sites on the internet.

In the future, there might be a possibility that HTTPS encryption would be the default, with its downloads also joining the mix.

Google and its Chrome Browser

The famous internet company's Chrome web browser is one of the top in the world, and it is also subject to different updates to make it better, due to the many vulnerabilities its faces now. From different malware and zero-day vulnerabilities, Google faces different threats in their daily operations, and this does not stop despite fixing the problem.

As the internet progresses more as a platform for users to enjoy their daily experiences, multiple integrations and features arrive on the browser for people's needs.

One of the most significant focuses of Google now is the Chrome experience's growth with AI, with the company's different takes on the self-learning and functioning machine.

With the internet's growth in the present environment, especially in handling the public's data and information online, web browsers like Chrome catch up on the changes. Now, HTTPS downloads may be the future default and standard, with options on Google's featured web browser to help give users the power over its downloads.
