The Biden administration is currently exploring options to bring offshore wind farms into the Gulf of Mexico in the next decade.

The US government might be looking forward to bringing more efficient energy to households. The original plan is expected to light up about 3.1 million homes across Louisiana and Texas.

The US government aims to reduce the use of fossil fuels by introducing offshore wind farms.

By 2030, the current administration could bring 30 gigawatts of offshore wind to millions of homes in the United States.

According to a report by The Guardian, the Biden admin wants to join other companies that want to go green in the next several years.

By relying on renewable sources of energy, the experts believe that pollution can be lessened and only "green hydrogen" will be sent to the shore.

With that being said, the plan aims to ditch traditional fuel, which was originally created from fossil fuels. This source of energy is not sustainable in the long run since it can do more harm than good to the planet.

While others see offshore wind power as a good alternative to the usual energy sources, some people claim that it will be inefficient and unmanageable at some levels.

"Hydrogen is, at worst, a false solution and, at best, potentially a distraction. If you want to have an energy system that is truly climate and people-friendly, we need to focus on building out renewable energy and using that to help people," Taproot Earth national policy director Kendall Dix said.

Taproot Earth is one of the existing activist organizations aiming to combat the planet's climate pollution.

Establishing Offshore Wind Farms

The US government is not alone in its goal to bring offshore wind power to the locals soon. About 10 firms reportedly showed interest in joining the same venture to achieve a "lower carbon power business."

Decarbonizing the whole nation could take a long time, but when executed properly, it could be the best possible solution to shove away the fossil fuel industry in the country.

According to the International Energy Agency, green hydrogen can achieve lower carbon emissions. It could decrease the carbon footprint by as much as 68%.

Aside from the US, several countries have been discussing matters about offshore wind farms. The talk also reached Europe and the Atlantic coast at the moment.

Europe aims to hit its goal of increasing its offshore wind capacity to 14,600 megawatts.

There's no doubt that many nations are pushing their campaign to embrace offshore wind farms for more sustainable energy.

According to Renews.biz, Taiwan might be exploring options to introduce offshore wind farms after the first round of the Phase 3 Zonal Development offshore wind auction got finished.

Eight developers are expected to work on seven different projects regarding the construction of wind farms.
