There is a new spacecraft and plane hybrid that would soon arrive, and this is called the "Dream Chaser" which Sierra Space from Tom Vice is aiming to deliver soon. One of the many features of this new spaceplane is that it delivers hypersonic capabilities, as well as an inflatable habitat on board.

At first look, the Dream Chaser's model is not as massive as modern-day rockets, and it is because it is built this way by the companies, for easier landing on international runways.

Sierra Space posted a teaser on its Twitter page regarding the Dream Chaser spaceplane, and it asks the public if they are ready for an upcoming announcement or reveal this year.

Still, it is unknown what type of showcase the company would bring, and if it is ready to deliver developments regarding its latest venture. The Dream Chaser features hypersonic capabilities for its aerial travel, with a shorter body than the NASA Space Shuttle that could land on international runways to make it more accessible to the public.

In a previous press release, the company claimed that it achieved "major milestones" for its development of the Commercial Space Station, the Orbital Reef, with its partner, Blue Origin.

By 2027, when the Orbital Reef is operational, the company would utilize the Dream Chaser to be the vessel to take them to a cosmic destination where they can sleep in its hotel, dine in its restaurant, and conduct research via the labs and facilities on board.

Another feature onboard the Dream Chaser is the LIFE (Large Integrated Flexible Environment) habitat that will center on an inflatable structure.

It is as tall as a three-story structure and is 27 feet in diameter. The LIFE is meant for remote work and living for crewmembers or passengers of 12 people, made up of a pressure shell layer called VectranTM fabric weave, which Sierra claims to be stronger than steel.

The Future of Space Travel

The Dream Chaser is a massive name in the space industry because, for the longest time, Sierra Space has developed the spacecraft to bring commercial space flights for all. It is an iconic spaceplane from Sierra, initially challenging NASA to make space available for regular people, with cargo and commercial passenger features for comfort.

Sierra designed the Dream Chaser for the NASA Commercial Crew program that centers on private companies to deliver rockets of the future for the agency, to accommodate missions to the ISS. It also got approval from NASA for its featured spaceplane, something that will play a massive role in the future of interstellar travels.

Now, with multiple ventures towards developing its different projects with multiple partners like Blue Origin with the Orbital Reef, and Spirit Airways for the Dream Chaser, Sierra Space has a lot in store for 2023. The company's teaser for 2023 may mean that a spaceplane prototype may be coming, soon for the world to see.
