Some people said that Apple quietly confirmed this detail via its official repair pages. 

Aside from iOS smartphones, out-of-warranty iPads and MacBooks are also expected to have their battery replacement prices changed. 

If the tech firm's warranty no longer covers your Apple gadget, here's the additional cost you need to pay and when it will start.

According to Tech Crunch's latest report, the out-of-warranty battery service fee changes will depend on your gadget model.

Here's the list of the affected out-of-warranty gadgets: 

  • iPhone 13 and older iOS smartphones ($20 price increase) 
  • All MacBook Air models ($30 price increase) 
  • All MacBook Pro models ($50 price increase) 
  • iPad Pro 12.9-inch 5th-gen and older. iPad Pro 11-inch, iPad 9.7-inch, iPad Pro 10.5-inch, iPad Air 5th-gen and older, as well as iPad Mini 6th-gen and older ($20 price increase) 

If you visit Apple's official repair website, you will see that these price adjustments will be effective on Mar. 1.  

What You Need to Do

If your Apple warranty is about to expire, the best thing you can do is to avail the company's AppeCare+ service. 

"AppleCare+ for iPhone includes unlimited incidents of accidental damage protection," said the gadget maker. 

If you are interested in getting an AppleCare+ plan, here are the steps you need to follow: 

  1. First, open your device and follow this route; Settings > General > About and choose AppleCare+ Coverage Available.
  2. After that, you will be required to provide your serial number and conduct a remote diagnostic. 
  3. Then, you need to visit an Apple Store so that the company's staff can inspect your device. 

Once you have AppleCare+, here are some of the perks you can take advantage of:

  • Same-day service in most major metropolitan areas worldwide.
  • 24/7 priority access to Apple experts via chat or phone.
  • Carry-in repair and main-in repair.  

Apple is expected to adjust the prices of more devices as it conducts enhancements and other improvements.
