Visitors attend the opening day of the "Paris Games Week" video-game fair, after the cancellation of two editions due to the pandemic, with a Bowser (a character from the Super Mario franchise) construction (R) and the logos of Nintendo Switch and Amiibo in the backgroud, in Paris on November 2, 2022.

Over the weekend, the Stardew Valley patch 1.5 was rolled out for Android and iOS ports, which brings in a lot of new stuff.

What the New Patch Brings

Patch 1.5 adds a lot of exciting things to the game. Some of the most notable additions are a new beach farm layout, a new batch of NPCs and enemies, ostriches, and Ginger Island, a whole new location. You can find the whole content of the latest update here.

The Last Content?

It's likely that this could be the last content for the game as the creator, Eric Barone, is already working on Haunted Chocolatier, which will be his next indie game-to-be. There is no release date yet for this, but it can be recalled that he started working on this in 2020. Therefore, a launch in late 2023 or sometime next year can be expected.

While fans are eagerly waiting for the new game, they are also hoping that Barone will do something new with Stardew Valley.

Version 1.5 is a free update that doesn't require the player to download or buy anything. It is available on Steam and the iOS App Store. It is also available on the Android App Store.

New Shrek Mod

In other news, a new mod will let you transform the Standard Farm Map in the sim into Shrek's Swamp. It comes from user Wanxos99 over on Nexus Mods. It will transform the Farm Map into a replica of Shrek's Swamp.

You can also download the mod that can turn the game's horse into Donkey. Unfortunately, this one won't follow you around.

This is not the only Shrek-related mods for Stardew Valley. It can be recalled that earlier this year, someone added the ability to have the original Shrek film play in the Stardew movie theater.

The Success of Stardew Valley Over the Years

Stardew Valley was launched in 2016 and has been one of the most loved indie games ever. The game offers so much fun with its storyline and gameplay, which is why it's still a top-selling game up to this time. In fact, as of writing, Stardew Valley is listed as a top game in the USA and the UK.

With the new update, there is no doubt that many fans will get another chance to relive the fun of the game.

Stardew Valley has been successful over the years, and it shows no sign of slowing down. The new update will keep fans on the edge of their seat and is another opportunity for them to enjoy the game and its gameplay.
