There are new issues on the Apple TV now, and it is not about its streaming capabilities and service, but it centers on the latest requirement of the Cupertino company to update their Apple ID and terms via an iPhone. Several users have complained about this online, especially as some use the Apple TV but does not own other iOS devices.

Before this recent update, people may use the Apple TV without any iOS devices present, but for some reason, Apple requires this now, with people getting prompts every time they use it.

A recently viral tweet from an Apple TV user claims that Apple is now requiring the public to update their Apple ID and accept the company's new terms and conditions using an iPhone. It also requires users to do this with iOS 16 updated devices, and no lower than that to continue with their uninterrupted usage of the device.

The user claims that this pops up every time they open the Apple TV device, and the message displays that they need to confirm their Apple IDs via the smartphone.

Previously, users may go on about their Apple TV usage by confirming this on a PC web browser, which would then accept this authentication and confirmation.

This new prompt is under the tvOS16 version.

The user claims that he needs to accept the terms and conditions of the iCloud prompt in his Apple TV device, under the new tvOS 16. He claimed that he already tried to fix this problem by signing in to the web but there were no prompts regarding iCloud's T&C.

Additionally, they also tried an alternative hack for this, and it is to download the Apple Music app on Android to get the same prompt, but it was not appearing for their situation.

Apple TV's Services

Apple TV is a plug-and-play device from the famous tech company which centers on a device to turn one's television into a smart TV, filled with many features like Siri, apps, and more. This is a way to transform one's television with updated content, especially for old ones, with different iterations like the Apple TV HD, and more.

The company offers different tiers on its Apple TV devices, from 64 GB to 128 GB, and stems from its latest Apple TV 4K top boxes to connect to televisions. There was once a bug from Apple that prevents users from installing apps or keeping recorded content once it reached 64 GB, and not fully utilizing larger storage allocations that it already fixed.

The Apple TV is one of the most famous black boxes available in the world for television, alongside streaming sticks and devices like Amazon's Fire Stick, Roku, Google TV, and more. However, with this issue on Apple TV's services, it may lose subscribers and users as not all own iPhones to continue with the service, especially as it requires iOS 16 installed on devices.
