Apple is speculated for a massive reveal on January 17, and it is with the company's MacBook Pro with the M2 refresh for its processors coming to the public. It centers on two computers from Apple, with 14-inch and 16-inch screens for the laptops, alongside its other features like the notch for the FaceTime HD camera, MagSafe charger, and more.

This refresh is long overdue, as Apple temporarily halted its development of the new-generation MacBook Pro due to budget constraints and supply chain problems from before.

Three known leakers and analyst reports have claimed that there is an upcoming Apple launch on January 17, and it all centers on the MacBook Pro M2 refresh for the supposed build of the computers. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, new Macs are arriving early this year and confirming what MacRumors claimed in their report.

Additionally, Jon Prosser (via Front Page Tech), also said to keep an eye on Apple's Newsroom releases for January 17 but did not specify which device is coming.

All of these speculations and leaked information centers on the MacBook Pro's M2 refresh for bigger screens, featuring the new notch it introduced in 2021.

What to Expect on 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros?

Since 2021, Apple's MacBook Pro M1 Max and Ultra, there were no further updates to the device, and surprisingly, Cupertino reverted to its old design with the black bezels for the Pro laptops.

However, that is changing now thanks to a better supply chain for its new design, with the notch for the FaceTime HD Camera, as well as the MagSafe-equipped device.

Moreover, it is unknown if it would get the same M2 chip as the Air, or a new version that will have better computing power than its predecessor.

Tune in by January 17 on Apple's Newsroom for any surprise drops.

Apple's MacBook Pro Development

After the refresh that Apple did with the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air with the M2 chip from 2022, the company decided to hold off on any further releases in the lineup with the latest processor. The decision came from Apple, with insiders claiming that it would center its efforts on the future arrival of the next-gen MacBook Pros.

Last October, Apple released a refreshed MacBook Pro 13-inch with the same M2 chip as the earlier released MacBook Air. However, the company did this release silently, without having an event to kick off the arrival of this refreshed device.

The Cupertino giant revealed these new devices via a press release from the company, something that is different from its previous showcases.

After a delay for one year due to its supply chain problems for the MacBook Pro that features a notch and MagSafe charger, Apple is now looking at 2023's first quarter for its anticipated arrival to the world. There would be two computers coming, with different screen sizes following its 2021 release, but would not wait for later in the quarter, as it is set to arrive on January 17.
