Nintendo Game Boy Switch Online Library in Japan

According to a report by Engadget, the Japanese gaming firm has finally added much-awaited Game Boy and Game Boy Advanced titles to Switch Online.

The renowned gaming giant announced their arrival to the subscription service during its Nintendo Direct 2023 event.

After waiting for years, Switch Online members got their hands on several Game Boy offerings, including Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance (GBA) gaming titles.

It includes games like "Super Mario Advance 4" and "Metroid II: Return of Samus."

Although the Japanese gaming firm brought tons of Game Boy titles to Switch Online users in the US, it looks like Japanese members are getting more games.

Nintendo Life notes in its story that the Switch Online library in Japan is a bit different from what came out in the North American region. Folks in Japan got titles that subscribers in the US are missing out on.

For instance, the Game Boy offerings include a Japan-only action RPG, none other than the "Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru," also known as "The Frog For Whom the Bell Tolls."

On top of that, Japanese gamers are also getting an expanded GBA library. "The Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade" and the "The Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade" are available in the Land of the Rising Sun.

However, Engadget reports that "Fire Emblem" is arriving soon in the Switch Online library in the US. So it might not take long before gamers in North America can get their hands on it.

All in all, the Switch Online library in Japan offers three more Game Boy and GBA titles compared to what the US lineup includes.
