In a supposed bid to put things underway, Elon Musk's Neuralink got rejected by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2022 for its plans to move forward in testing its technology for humans. According to several reports and sources, the company applied for human trials last year but its efforts were hindered as per the agency's rejection.

The good thing here is that Neuralink is doing things by the book and is applying for the progression of its technology from the FDA to carry on with its supposed testing.

According to a report by Reuters, Neuralink applied for its eligibility to carry on to its human testing feats but was rejected by the FDA back in 2022 when the company decided to proceed with it.

This information came from seven existing and former Neuralink employees that remain unnamed.

Neuralink's goal for its human trials was aiming for 2020 to start its application for people's brains, but the significant gap in its development compared to other companies was massive. Not to mention that its progress in their brain implants was not that strong, missing out on several aspects that it needs to consider, hence the FDA rejection.

Back in the fall season, Neuralink sent forth an application to the FDA which will start the probe regarding their readiness for human trials, and the results would arrive by March 7. It is coming next week but employees doubt that it would get the approval.

Neuralink's Show and Tell last December talked about the progress the company made in its development of the brain implant, centering on the monkey trials it did.

Amidst this, Elon Musk said that the company is still six months away from human trials, and they may be ready by May or June this year, but one could never tell.

Still, there are massive plans behind Neuralink and Musk's ambitions remain for its brain implants, to soon apply again for human testing.

Neuralink and its Brain Implant Technology

Back during the start of the pandemic, Neuralink have been making significant waves as the company was largely hinting about its progress and developments for their supposed brain chips.

Some of the claims from the company and its CEO focuses on a brain implant that would help users control their emotions and moods better, among many things.

At first, the company highly promises that Neuralink's goal is to create a brain implant that will help paraplegics and disabled people walk again, considering that they have the limbs needed for this action.

Later on, it centered on "AI symbiosis" that will also improve a person's brain power, capability to think, and process information incorporated by the implant.

However, in recent times, it faced significant controversies regarding its clinical animal test ventures which faced deaths and other issues among animal rights groups. The FDA still waits for promising results from Musk's company to continue its further testing, one that it would soon apply to human subjects to get the brain implant from them.
