Huawei's flagship phones are no longer limited to only 4G modems, as a new third-party case from Soyealink now allows the P60 Pro and P60 to access 5G support. The case is 53g and 3.2 mm thick and conveniently connects via USB Type-C.

According to the story by Notebook Check, it also supports pass-through charging, allowing users to top off their phone's battery without taking off the case. Users will need an eSIM to take advantage of the 5G capabilities, though, and no pricing has been revealed yet.

Due to US sanctions, Huawei's new P60 and P60 Pro flagship smartphones cannot use 5G modems. However, a new third-party case is here to add a 5G modem to both devices. The slim 3.2 mm case, created by Soyealink, connects to the phones via USB Type-C and adds up to 53 g to their carry weight.

Additionally, the case supports pass-through charging and allegedly even offers 88 W fast charging to the P60 Pro. The case is designed to work with an eSIM and cannot be used with physical cards.

The Lasting Impact of US Sanctions on Huawei Products

Moreover, the case is likely to block wireless charging due to its thickness. Pricing details remain unknown, but Huawei is expected to launch the P60 and P60 Pro in Europe this month, so the case may be available soon.

The 5G case offers an innovative solution for those wishing to use their P60 or P60 Pro device with the latest 5G speeds. That said, the added weight and thickness may be a deterrent to some, so it's important to keep this in mind when making a purchase decision.

As 5G continues to become the norm for high-end flagship devices, Huawei has not included a 5G modem in its newly released P60 and P60 Pro smartphones due to US sanctions, as explained in an article by Soyea-Tech

Fortunately, with the help of a third-party case from Soyealink, an official Huawei sub-brand, both P60 devices will now come with a 5G modem built into the case. Fans can check images uploaded by TECHNOLOGY INFO on Twitter.

Measuring just 3.2mm thick and weighing 53g, the 5G case connects to the P60 and P60 Pro via USB Type-C and works solely with an eSIM, allowing users to enjoy the fast speeds of 5G without compromising on the phone's design.

Ensuring Users Have Access to 5G Technology with the Huawei 5G Case

The case also supports pass-through charging, although Huawei notes that wireless charging is not an option due to the case's thickness. With the 5G case, Huawei hopes to bring 5G to its P60 and P60 Pro smartphones and ensure its users are not missing out on the latest technological advancements.

While the pricing of the case has yet to be detailed, there is hope that it'll soon be available for purchase when the P60 and P60 Pro launch in Europe in May.
