Redanian Intelligence hinted a new villain coming to "The Witcher" Season 3 and it centers on a familiar character for those who read the novel series, with "The Professor," a.k.a. Ralf Blunden coming. The new villain will be played by Sunny Patel, a London-based actor known for his appearances on-stage or voices known as characters in animated productions.

The Witcher series showrunner Lauren Hissrich has also teased before that the next season of the series on Netflix would feature more elements from Time of Contempt for the public to enjoy.

There are no confirmations yet from Netflix and Tudum regarding Patel's involvement in the series, much less about the new villain coming to the show.

'The Witcher' and its Franchise's Legacy

CD Projekt Red became known for its The Witcher game franchise which it adopted from Polish author, Andrzej Sapkowski, with the first titular video game experience released in 2007. The game series' last mainline release is the critically-acclaimed title known as "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," which is still a game revisited on different platforms, also seeing a remaster.

The game series' fame shed a light on the possibility of it seeing a live-action adaptation, first thought of as a movie but did not take off from its development.

It was then picked up by Netflix and was first released to the world in 2019, seeing a new side of Superman actor, Henry Cavill, as the titular Witcher and protagonist, Geralt of Rivia.

Netflix's development of The Witcher series sees two years of waiting time per season, as Season 2 dropped in 2021, and rumors are swirling for 2023's Season 3. With this new faithful adaptation to Time of Contempt, Season 3 will allegedly bring the iconic villain known as The Professor to track down Yennefer and Ciri, still unconfirmed by its showrunners.
