AI Chatbot on iPhones

The ChatGPT app allows users to interact with a generative AI-based chatbot on their iPhones. It also supports voice input through OpenAI's speech recognition system, Whisper, and offers advanced features through GPT-4 for ChatGPT Plus users.

Additionally, users have the option to subscribe to the ChatGPT Plus service directly through the iOS app for $20 per month in the United States. The app is currently exclusive to iOS, but OpenAI has plans to release an Android version in the future.

The timing of the ChatGPT app expansion aligns with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's endeavors to interact with international policymakers and grasp their apprehensions regarding AI.

Altman has held meetings with numerous state leaders in Europe and has plans to visit India in the near future, showcasing OpenAI's dedication to establishing connections and tackling significant AI-related concerns worldwide.

ChatGPT's Rise in Popularity

The rise in popularity of ChatGPT has been remarkable since its launch last year. Users have been drawn to its ability to provide interactive and engaging conversations, coupled with features such as voice input and access to advanced functions through ChatGPT Plus.

The app's expanding availability in numerous countries further contributes to its growing user base.

The rise of AI tools like ChatGPT raises concerns regarding the need for regulations to ensure the responsible usage of AI.

One major concern is the potential for misinformation and manipulation, as AI systems can generate realistic but false information, leading to the spread of fake news and deception.

Additionally, there are ethical concerns related to privacy and data security, as AI tools often rely on user data for training and improvement.

Hence, governments around the world are in discussions to ensure the proper governance of AI.
