A Twitter leaker revealed a rumor about the prototype of the upcoming MagSafe charger in colored version.

As iClarified spotted via Kosutami, a self-proclaimed Apple internal and rare Apple products collector, the Cupertino tech firm could be preparing to unveil new colored versions of the iPhone charger. The rumor says it could be similar to the colored version of the MacBook Air Charging 3 Charging cables.

The rumor did not give further details regarding the prototype of the MagSafe charger except for its colors. However, the source has specified that we might see the same colors in the MacBook Air, including Silver, Space Gray, Starlight, and Midnight.

Prototype Colored MagSafe Charger Will Feature More Saturation

Even if it feels redundant to copy what MacBook has done with the colored versions of its MagSafe 3 charging cable, the iPhone's MagSafe charger is expected to feature a different tone of colors than them.

According to a report by AppleInsider, Kosutami shared that the prototyped version of the rumored MagSafe charger will have more color saturation. Because of this, we expect this model to retain the colored versions we have seen for the unreleased model.

"Recently got some prototypes and information. It shows that the MagSafe charger used to have a colored version, just like their MagSafe MacBook Charging cable but with more saturation. (Also tried on the unreleased Magic Charger)," the tweet reads.

At the moment, Apple has not yet confirmed if the prototyped colored chargers will be released or mass-produced anytime. If it's true, we never know if they are designed to match their colored-match iPhone counterparts.

Regardless of this is only a rumor, it's noteworthy to note that Apple is launching different colors of the charger at once. This is interesting for Apple accessory collectors who find its value skyrocketing in the future. This is also an ideal gimmick by Apple to outpace its rivals in the smartphone charging industry.

Meanwhile, Macrumors wrote in its report that the iPhone maker is preparing to contribute to the Qi2 charger's new version. It's quite similar to MagSafe.

Since iPhone 15 models are foreseen to be launching a few months from now, some users are wondering if they can use other brands outside MagSafe. Allowing the use of third-party chargers opens a more competitive setting in the market.

For what it's worth, seeing a colored MagSafe version feels brand new to the eyes of the customers. However, if Apple really wants to enhance its competition with other companies, it needs to roll out more useful features for the MagSafe charger. It will be more lucrative than just relying on the design of the product.
