YouTube TV is expanding its multiview feature to include news, weather, and more alongside sports, CNET reports.

Although the changes are currently being tested and gradually rolled out over the summer, not all users will immediately have access to these new features.

YouTube TV Multiview Non-Sports Expansion

The announcement came via Twitter when YouTube TV stated, "Starting today in the Home tab, a small portion of members will see us testing up to 5 brand new multiview streams that will be available to watch 24/7 across news, sports, business news, weather, and Deportes." The company aims to receive user feedback during the testing phase.

Multiview was initially introduced by YouTube TV in March, just in time for the excitement of March Madness.

This feature allowed users to watch up to four sports streams simultaneously. Google, the parent company of YouTube TV, had already expressed its plans to explore the implementation of multiview across a wide range of content.

The monthly subscription cost for YouTube TV starts at $65 for the first three months and then increases to $73 per month. Additionally, YouTube TV plans to exclusively stream NFL Sunday Ticket later this year, providing football enthusiasts with even more content to enjoy.

YouTube TV Answers Fans' Questions

Several inquiries from Twitter users were also addressed by YouTube TV.

One user expressed disappointment over the removal of SNY (SportsNet New York) from the service. YouTube TV responded, explaining that they had not reached a new agreement with SNY but were open to continuing conversations with them and MLB Network to potentially restore their content.

The response also reassured users that they could still watch Mets games on nationally televised channels like FOX, ESPN, and TBS.

Another user inquired about the availability of the multiview feature for NFL Sunday Ticket. YouTube TV confirmed that they would indeed be launching a multiview for NFL Sunday Ticket and also hinted at upcoming improvements, urging users to stay tuned for more specific information closer to the start of the season.

Regarding the customization of multiview, where users can select their preferred streams, YouTube TV clarified that they are currently offering a pre-defined listing of multiview streams. However, they assured users that they would keep them informed if any changes were made in the future.

Lastly, the availability of multiview across various platforms was discussed. YouTube TV clarified that currently, multiview is only accessible on living room devices and not available on mobile or web platforms. They also indicated their willingness to notify users if this changes in the future.

As YouTube TV expands its multiview feature to include news, weather, and more, subscribers can anticipate an enhanced streaming experience that allows for simultaneous viewing of their favorite content.

With the promise of continued improvements and the exclusive streaming of NFL Sunday Ticket on the horizon, YouTube TV remains committed to delivering an extensive range of high-quality content to its users.
