The Samsung Galaxy S23 family will reportedly be the first to get the newest Android 14 update. The report came as a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra was spotted running Android 14 and presumably One UI 6 on top in a recent leak on Geekbench.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Could be Running With Android 14 and One UI 6 Per GeekBench Spotting
According to GSM Arena, one of the upcoming updates within Samsung's software roadmap would include shipping out with the One UI 6. Recent leaks revealed that Samsung would launch its public beta testing for One Ui 6, along with Android 14, in the third week of July.
The GSM Arena reported that Samsung's high-end Galaxy S series phones, like the Galaxy S23 family, are usually among the first to get the beta version.
The Korean giant appeared to be on track with the schedule. So, it is possible that Android 14 will be released to the public in August.
The GeekBench Listing Reports a 1712 Single-Core Score and a 3476 Multi-Core Score
Based on the Geekbench listing, the newer Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra with One UI 6 based on Android 14 did not achieve significant benchmark scores.
This finding has reportedly generated excitement among fans awaiting the next iteration of the popular user interface of Samsung. The testing has reportedly been performed on the 8GB RAM US "SM-S918U" model of the Galaxy S23 Ultra with a carrier-locked AT&T.
It obtained a score of 1,712 points in the single-core test and 3,476 points in the multi-core test, which indicates a significant drought in overall performance.
It was noted that since what was being talked about was the beta software, fans should not consider it to be the device's final performance with the particular operating system. The leak is reportedly only an indication that internal beta testing for the new software combo is possibly well underway.
If the company sticks to its regular release stages, fans can expect public testing of at least a few weeks and four public beta builds before Samsung releases the stable Android update to the Galaxy S23 family.
What Fans Might Expect from the Newest Operating System Updates
GSM Arena also reported that other Samsung devices are also eligible for the OTA. But when it comes to the update itself, it is still unclear what exactly One UI 6 will bring other than some minor UI tweaks.
Android 14 has several noteworthy features like improved battery health information and Nearby Share, with a new Share menu and a predictive back gesture. It also includes a transparent navigation bar in all apps and per-app language preferences.
Sam Mobile reported that the Galaxy S23 series will get the first beta version of Android 14-based One UI 6 software by the end of July in select countries, including China, India, the US, Germany, and the UK.
