report by IGN has confirmed that Michael Unsworth, the VP of Writing over at Rockstar Games, has left the company and stepped away from his post. The media outlet is now reaching out to Rockstar to confirm Unsworth's departure from the company especially during these crucial times.

Unsworth is known for his massive 16 years over at the company where he joined Rockstar in 2007 as a senior creative writer. In 2019, Unsworth was given a massive task and was named a writing director in 2019.

In 2021, the Rockstar Games veteran stepped up to be the company's VP of Writing which he served for two years before his reported departure.

Massive credits are given to Unsworth's work with Rockstar, centering on titles including Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2 which came out amidst his career.

According to Kotaku, Unsworth is joining the growing list of Rockstar veterans who left the company, those credited for shaping the company's brand and development that centered on their released games.

It is unknown how massive Unsworth's contribution is to Grand Theft Auto VI and Red Dead Redemption III, but as VP of Writing, he has a clear and distinct role in the development of these games. Also, it remains unseen how his departure would affect these productions in the present.

With Michael Unsworth's departure, many titles may remain stagnant especially because of his massive influence and role in the company, centering on the latest titles that are speculated to arrive. Currently, gamers are already rallying for the unveiling of these new titles, especially with Grand Theft Auto VI which remains an unconfirmed game that still does not have an official title.

However, it is a different story for Red Dead Redemption, as back in 2021, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick confirmed that there is a sequel coming for the old cowboy game that would succeed its famed RDR 2. It is somewhat similar to how Rockstar confirmed Grand Theft Auto's sequel game, something that it is currently working on, but did not provide any titles to it.

Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have been in the spotlight in the past few months and years as gamers have been expecting a lot from the company to reveal their next games on the famed franchises there is. Alongside these, many veterans from the company have left, including Unsworth, who has been significantly credited for his works on the previous games that are now set for sequels.
