LinkedIn and X have been discovered to be on the verge of adopting Passkeys, the up-and-coming feature for iOS and macOS users that will replace passwords with special authentication keys. No passwords mean that users will no longer need to input on the text field, and will only require their Face ID or Touch ID authentication to help login to the platform or app for the Apple ecosystem.
The massive adoption of Passkeys is expanding, and this is what the industry is standardizing now, replacing username and password authentication with systems that are capable of keeping accounts safe.

According to a recent report from Steve Moser, an app analyst, he found that Microsoft's LinkedIn and Elon Musk's X (formerly Twitter) are working on adding support for Passkeys.
Passkeys is the new standard for login authentication, as developed by the FIDO Alliance and the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), one that aims to bring a passwordless future for all.
Moser claimed that each app's respective codes showed a provision for Passkeys, but it remains unknown when LinkedIn or X would roll out this feature for its users to enjoy.
With Passkeys, the goal is to bring authentication without needing to input and remember passwords on the login page, as the system would help connect with the supported platform to use biometric scans in authenticating an account.

More Apps Adopting the Passkeys
LinkedIn and X are the latest joiners to adopt Passkeys for their platforms, but it joins the different companies that pledged to use and apply it for the experience.
Apple is one of the best known for using Passkeys with its Face ID and Touch ID, with its biometric scans enough to secure and authenticate accounts when needed.
The renowned Passkeys is best known for using cryptographic keys that are random but different for every account, unique to each user and platform, and promise safety and ease of use.
Passwordless Future is Coming
A passwordless future is what different companies have tried to achieve, and this is because there are significant security concerns that have appeared over the past years that threaten users and companies because of login authentications. Passwords can be easily hacked, obtained, or guessed by threat actors, and companies like Apple have adopted Passkeys.
Alongside Apple, there is also Google which adopted Passkeys and it allows more users to enjoy this feature in getting authentication via system-generated encryption keys for more robust protection.
Different platforms, operating systems, and technology from Big Tech are looking to bring Passkeys for all, one that only needs a biometric scan to ensure it is the person and help authenticate their login for all needs.
Several apps have already adopted Passkeys and one of them is TikTok, promising a safer login experience that would be easier to use, replacing password logins soon for its platform.
Alongside TikTok is WhatsApp, but it did not end there, as the recent findings discovered Microsoft's LinkedIn and Elon Musk's X are also adopting Passkeys, coming soon for a passwordless future.
