The first iteration of the Earth's Mightiest Heroes on an action RPG title, Marvel's Avengers, will soon say its final goodbyes as it is getting delisted from the digital stores. Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics' development received massive controversy on this game, with it receiving mixed reviews which was mostly plagued with negative remarks from gamers.

Despite all of these, one of Marvel's Avengers developers claimed that he is "proud" of the game, soon to no longer be available for the world.

When Marvel's Avengers' official X account claimed that the April Update 2.8.2 was the game's "final expected patch," it was expected that the end was nigh. This is now the sad reality that fans and gamers are seeing now, as the game depicting the top Marvel heroes and villains will soon be delisted off the digital stores on different platforms including the PlayStationXbox, and Steam

Now, the game sees a massive sale for the last chance to the Definitive Edition, with as much as 90 percent discounts available on each platform, from its original price of $39.99, now available for $3.99.

Earlier this January, the developers and its team claimed that the final update will be released soon, confirming that the game will soon be defunct and no longer see support.

Dev Claims He is 'Incredibly Proud' of the Game

Rowan Belden-Clifford, Crystal Dynamics' lead level designer, has shared a post on X regarding the game's upcoming delisting, claiming that he is "incredibly proud" of it.

While the game "didn't find its audience," Belden-Clifford wrote, he regarded that it has "some stellar storytelling and gameplay," encouraging more gamers to buy it before it is gone from the stores.

Crystal Dynamics Marvel's Avengers

Towards the end of 2020, massive hype surrounded many AAA-rated games, and this included Marvel's Avengers, a game that was expected to change the way Marvel titles are represented in the gaming industry. The game was developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Square Enix, and both are renowned for their previous works, including the Tomb Raider remake trilogy.

Crystal Dynamics held on to the game for years, offering various updates and new content for the world to experience, with the company reaching as many as three years for the game last early September. The last playable character that they added to the game is the Winter Soldier, also known as Captain America's best friend, Bucky Barnes.

It gave the world a massive in-depth experience to become an Avenger, and while the title's intentions were in the right place, there were a lot of lapses that the industry saw, including Square Enix's negative remarks about the game. Marvel's Avengers showed promise, and its developer is proud of the game, but it did not fly off with the public, soon to be delisted from the digital stores.
