Square Enix Is Coming Out With Final Fantasy XIV-Based Tabletop Game That Allows Players to Use Their MMORPG Characters
According to SiliconEra, the new Final Fantasy XIV-based tabletop RPG game was announced by none other than Square Enix. It was revealed that players would be able to take their very own characters from the MMORPG and play them tabletop style.
It was also revealed that the "Final Fantasy XIV" tabletop RPG game would be released in May 2024. However, Square Enix noted that the release date could still change. Reportedly available for online pre-orders, interested buyers would have to head to the official Square Enix online store to get the game.
Game Expected to be Priced at $59.99 And Is Already Available for Pre-Orders Ahead of Its May 2024 Launch
As the game is being prepared for its release, it is expected to be priced at $59.99. However, it is important to note that it is currently in pre-order and that there are instances that games cost more once they are officially launched.
Buyers of the Final Fantasy XIV TTRPG set can get multiple inclusions in the package, starting with a Player Book and a Gamemaster Book. For starters, there are premade character sheets that players can use.
Game's Premade Character Sheet Involves Different Types Like a Warrior, Dragoon, White Mage, and More
Regarding the premade character sheets, there will be different characters that will include a Warrior, Dragoon, White Mage, and Black Mage. Players would also get 16 custom dice.
The package would also include other items essential to the game, such as the strategy guide and the rules summary. Other items included are an encounter map, character tokes, and ability markers.

Final Fantasy XIV Tabletop Game Comes as Players Are Still Anticipating the Upcoming 7.0 Downtrail Expansion
The recommended number of players in the game is three to five players. One of those players will have to act as the Game Master, like what would happen in other tabletops.
Back in July 2023, Square Enix released an announcement regarding the new 7.0 Downtrail expansion. According to PC Gamer, the expansion will come out for "Final Fantasy XIV" around the summer of 2024.
The outlet detailed how the game would then be adding more DPS jobs, raids, and even what was described as a "golden new world." When the expansion launches, it will be the fifth ever of the MMO as its Endwalker arc wraps up important plot threads.
