LampSite X introduces unmatched 5.5G capabilities to indoor spaces, marking a significant leap in digitalization. During the Global Mobile Broadband Forum (MBBF) 2023, Yang explained how this router works.

A Gizmochina report says that Huawei's solution focuses on delivering the most streamlined design, simplified deployment, and the lowest energy consumption. What's more, it could reach a remarkable 10 Gbps for improved user experience.

Aside from that, it offers versatile functionalities that cater to the demands of consumers seeking premium indoor experiences and empowers various industries with robust digital productivity.

The 5G Boom and Indoor Connectivity

The explosive growth of 5G is reshaping the mobile landscape, with a substantial 80% of mobile traffic originating indoors. In high-density indoor settings like shopping malls, airports, railway stations, and stadiums, traffic density at hotspots surpasses the average by over 100 times.

Such environments demand enhanced indoor digital capabilities. Moreover, as industries undergo digital transformations, they require networks with advanced features such as high-precision positioning and ultra-high uplink to support smart manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics.

Embracing the Consensus on Indoor Digitalization

According to Huawei, the need for indoor digitalization has gained unanimous consent in the 5G and 5.5G era. However, this endeavor faces several challenges.

First, the integration and coordination of all frequency bands into the 5G spectrum are essential for a simplified design and deployment. Second, dynamic energy-saving measures based on varying traffic loads must be implemented to reduce energy costs. Lastly, industries' digital evolution necessitates the development of an array of capabilities tailored to diverse scenarios.

LampSite X Sets New Standards

LampSite X stands as a testament to addressing the requirements of indoor digitalization. This product line is incredibly compact, with some devices measuring a mere 1 liter in volume and weighing just 1 kg, making them the smallest and lightest in the industry. Their diminutive size enables effortless and flexible deployment in any environment.

Remarkably, these small packages deliver robust performance, as a single LampSite X box supports all frequency bands, radio access technologies, and wideband capabilities. It stands as the only product in the industry to merge mmWave and sub-6 GHz technologies, achieving a peak throughput of over 10 Gbps, marking a pivotal step toward bringing 5.5G indoors.

Empowering Various Industries

To meet the unique connectivity needs of diverse industries, LampSite X offers a comprehensive suite of capabilities. These include a 10 Gbps ultra-high uplink, high-precision positioning accurate to sub-meter levels, ultra-low latency down to milliseconds, and IoT integration.

The solution adopts Huawei's "0 Bit 0 Watt" approach, ensuring dynamic energy conservation with power consumption dropping to less than 1 W during off-peak hours and rapid on-demand activation, significantly enhancing energy efficiency.

Expanding Possibilities

LampSite X isn't just a connectivity solution; it's a catalyst for broader applications. In consumer scenarios, it elevates the consumer experience and introduces new business models.

For instance, Hong Kong's 10 Gbps business districts, have amplified traffic by more than 20%, driving operators to transition from providing network capabilities to offering converged services.

Huawei Lampsite is expected to be available in the second half of 2024. However, we're not sure if it will launch in the US and Europe since the Chinese trade embargo is still ongoing.
