New features in-game are coming for Mortal Kombat 1, and this came directly from renowned co-creator and director of the MK franchise, Ed Boon, who recently confirmed these features coming soon. While these are not exactly in-game features that gamers may utilize in their experience, but this improves how they match up with other opponents, offering more access to the global community.

NetherRealm Studios and WB Games are already working on integrating these features said Boon, and they will soon announce if it is ready.

Mortal Kombat 1 Features Coming Says Ed Boon

Ed Boon's announcements are still anticipated, and he is still the point person for all Mortal Kombat requests from gamers. With that, his recent post via X talks about the soon arrival of the features including Wi-Fi Filtering and the renowned "Kross-Play" (cross-play) for gamers on various platforms, looking to improve the experience for MK players.

Boon further said that gamers would have to tune in to updates from the developers, as they would finalize these features and bring them for all via an update.

This latest announcement brings a significant focus on expanding more of what gamers can do in the game, especially with the popular cross-play that will allow PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC gamers to go on an all-out brawl.

However, it was not revealed by Boon or NetherRealm which platforms will get the 'Kross-play' as in other games, these are limited to selected systems only.

What to Expect from MK1's New Features?

On the other hand, WiFi Filtering is a much-requested feature already from Mortal Kombat 1 gamers, with one gamer regarded for his effort to put up a sign that calls upon Ed Boon's attention via a wrestling league pay-per-view.

WiFi Filtering is requested by gamers, especially those in the Kombat League, as there are players who connect via wired LAN that get a match with WiFi players that may affect the experience. With this, there may be indications that a player is on WiFi and gets matched with a more appropriate opponent.

With WiFi Filtering and Kross-play, Mortal Kombat 1 is coming with improvements to its experience, something which gamers have asked for for a long time, with Boon answering it and fulfilling their wishes.
