The renowned largest streaming platform in the world, Netflix, is not looking towards integrating its app or creating a dedicated one for the upcoming Apple Vision Pro. This is according to the latest reports, stating that Netflix is not offering a dedicated experience for the Cupertino spatial computer, offering other ways for those wanting to immerse themselves in a different approach.

Many other streaming platforms are looking to bring their apps to the Vision Pro, especially with Apple's devkit that will help modify the existing iPhone or iPad apps.

According to a new report by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Netflix is not creating a dedicated or revamped app that would run natively on the visionOS, Apple's proprietary operating system for the Vision Pro. The report further added that Netflix expressed no plans to release an app meant for the Vision Pro mixed-reality headset, and wants users to try an alternative way.

In this different approach, Netflix wants users to browse its platform through high-definition lenses via its browser apps like Safari and more. Through this, users will get to access Netflix like how they do so from their computers, with the Netflix spokesperson confirming this to Gurman.

With this, it would be like how subscribers watch on Netflix via the Macs, where they launch it from the web.

Other Streaming Platforms Compatible with visionOS

Initially, Netflix said that its iPad app version would be compatible with the headset, but would not modify it for the visionOS. However, its latest statement suggests that no app would be available.

Nevertheless, an assortment of streaming platforms have announced native apps running on the visionOS upon launch, and this includes the likes of Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, Paramount+, Max, Peacock, ESPN, and more.

Apple's Vision Pro: Use Apps from iPhone, iPad

Apart from Apple's development of the visionOS for a more immersive and dedicated experience on the upcoming mixed-reality headset, the company affirmed a feature that will allow users to explore other apps in the device. This is through the compatibility of the iPhone and iPad apps in this massive spatial computer wearable, and this means that users will not get limited access to only the redesigned apps.

Many companies are willing to work with Apple or at least bring over what their apps or services deliver from the regular devices, onto the wearable headset. Telegram's CEO Pavel Durov previously shared the upcoming experience of the Telegram app in the Vision Pro, talking about the massive features it will deliver for the XR headset, and teasing what to look forward to.

However, while many are excited and ecstatic to bring their respective apps that would work seamlessly with the visionOS, not all are joining the developments to create new versions of their apps. Despite being the largest streaming platform in the world and the Vision Pro looking to deliver a new kind of streaming experience, Netflix is not on board this latest direction by Apple.
