Kojima Productions and 505 Games jointly announced the forthcoming release of Death Stranding: Director's Cut on select Apple devices, set for January 30.

Compatible with the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max (A17 Pro chip) and all iPad and M-series chip-equipped Mac models, pre-orders are available on the App Store at a discounted $19.99, temporarily reduced from the regular $39.99, per MacRumors. The A17 Pro chip (iPhone 15 Pro) and M3 chip (Macs) provide hardware-accelerated support for ray tracing and mesh shading, enhancing graphics rendering with improved lighting, reflections, and shadows.

Following the universal purchase model of Resident Evil 4 Remake's Apple port, Death Stranding: Director's Cut allows users to access multiple versions with a single purchase on compatible devices.

The announcement was made at WWDC last year during Hideo Kojima's keynote, revealing a collaboration with Apple for future game releases. While details on upcoming projects are undisclosed, Kojima Productions is actively working on Death Stranding 2 and OD, per IGN.

Gaming Community Awaits for The Kojima Classic

Despite being priced significantly lower than its PC counterpart, the upcoming Death Stranding Director's Cut mobile version is exclusive to the latest generation of devices, demanding nearly 70 GB of internal storage. The gaming community is expected to monitor the mobile port's performance, considering Death Stranding's acclaim as a recent Kojima classic.

Renowned Japanese video game designer Hideo Kojima, who wrote and designed the iconic stealth game Metal Gear, directed Death Stranding: Director's Cut, an open-world adventure game involving the character of the Walking Dead, Norman Reedus, in a post-apocalyptic world, and it was hailed as one of the best PS4 games in 2019. Loaded with exclusive content, the Director's Cut, released in 2021 for PS4 and PS5. The game was ported to PC two years later.

Death Stranding 2 Rumors

According to TechRadar, Kojima Productions is currently working on Death Stranding 2 for PS5, which was announced during the Game Awards 2023. It was revealed that recurring characters Fragile and Sam 'Porter' Bridges would also be featured, but no story details were released. The date of release remains unknown as of present reporting. TheGamer reported that the entire title of Death Stranding 2 may have leaked online, and it is not as gaming fans anticipated. The long-awaited sequel might be named Death Standing 2-On The Beach, per sources. However, there is no official announcement from Kojima at the moment.

Apple Wonderlust Event revealed in September revealed that the iPhone 15 Pro would get native versions of Resident Evil 4 Remake, Resident Evil Village, Death Stranding, and Assassin's Creed Mirage. Apple also promised iPhone gaming ray tracing and substantial speed improvements, which generated excitement among gaming enthusiasts with the device.
