Viber has recently rolled out a new update aimed at improving organization and enhancing user experience. The highlight of this update is the introduction of customizable chat folders, designed to make it easier for users to manage their conversations efficiently.

What's new?

With the latest update, Viber users can create up to five custom folders alongside the default "All" tab, which automatically includes all other chats.

These custom folders can be tailored to individual preferences, allowing users to categorize their chats based on different criteria, such as friends, family, work, and favorites.

Viber's latest update introduces customizable chat folders, enhancing organization with tailored options for users to manage conversations efficiently and personalize their messaging experience.

Streamlined Communication, Easy Customization

The introduction of customizable chat folders streamlines communication by providing users with a convenient way to organize their conversations.

Chats can be assigned to multiple folders, and there is no limit to the number of chats that can be added. This means users can easily access specific conversations without having to sift through a cluttered inbox.

Renaming folders or marking all chats within folders as read is made simple with the new update. Users have the flexibility to customize their chat folders according to their preferences, ensuring a personalized messaging experience.

Global Rollout

While the feature is gradually rolling out globally, users are required to update to Viber version 22.0 or higher to access customizable chat folders. The feature may take a couple of months to be available to all users. However, those with more than 10 chats will automatically gain access to the feature upon opening the app.

Ofir Eyal, CEO of Rakuten Viber, emphasized the significance of this update in today's digital landscape. He stated, "In today's fast-paced digital world where messaging apps play a paramount role in people's everyday lives, Rakuten Viber steps in with Folders.

"Our latest feature is here to elevate conversations and preserve meaningful connections by unlocking time-saving potential and embracing the advantage of simplicity," the CEO said.

Viber's introduction of customizable chat folders represents a significant step towards improving organization and enhancing user experience. With the ability to create personalized folders and streamline communication, users can expect a more efficient messaging experience.

Viber Business Calls

In January, Viber announced the global launch of business calls. This new function is intended to improve communication between businesses and their customers via the app by allowing customers to make free international calls to landline numbers directly through the service.

With the feature, customers can receive free business calls, regardless of their location. This is especially useful when supporting consumers calling from abroad, such as a foreign traveler inquiring about their reservation or a local bank client having problems with their credit card offshore.
