Palworld, the most controversial game in the eyes of Nintendo, has released the latest update v0.1.5.1 on Steam. The patch came after Pocketpair apologized for fixing a fun-to-have bug in-game.

Despite the recent update, players are eagerly awaiting the introduction of dedicated servers for the Xbox version.

Currently, Palworld on Steam offers the flexibility of creating and joining dedicated servers, accommodating up to 32 players simultaneously and fostering collaborative gameplay. However, the Xbox version is limited to cooperative play with 2-4 players, lagging behind its PC counterpart in terms of features.

Microsoft Helps Palworld Dev to Bring Xbox Version to Life

According to IGN, Microsoft has pledged direct collaboration with Pocketpair to aid in the development of the Xbox versions of Palworld. This support includes facilitating dedicated servers, providing engineering resources for GPU and memory optimization, expediting the release of updates, and optimizing the title for the Xbox platform.

Furthermore, the collaborative efforts aim to bridge the gap between the PC and Xbox versions, enhancing the gaming experience for all players.

Palworld is No Stranger to Controversies

Since its launch in January, Palworld has garnered significant attention, amassing over 25 million players. The Steam version alone has sold an impressive 15 million copies, while the Xbox edition has attracted 10 million players. However, the game has faced controversy alongside its success, with Pocketpair staff reportedly receiving death threats amidst accusations of Pokémon "rip-off."

Despite these challenges, the developer remains committed to the game's integrity and its passionate player base.

Just recently, GamesRadar reported that Pocketpair issued an apology after it "inadvertently fixed a bug" that was made for the players to enjoy.

For those unfamiliar with the bug, the players exploit it by adding the tower bosses to the roster. It's an instant hack for everyone, but still a bug.

Last week, Tech Times wrote that Palworld even encountered cheaters in-game. The devs immediately assured that the game does not tolerate cheating. To combat it, anti-cheat measures will be launched.

Pocketpair vs. Nintendo

Following concerns raised by the gaming community, Nintendo swiftly addressed potential copyright infringements related to Palworld's Pokémon-inspired elements.

While Pocketpair denies any wrongdoing, legal scrutiny looms as The Pokemon Company vows to investigate and protect its intellectual property rights.
