Fortnite's Chapter 5 Season 2 is set to receive its next patch update this week. The update teases the return of the iconic villain Midas to kick off the festivities for the new season.

Several years since Midas' introduction, the fan-favorite antagonist is set to dive back on the battle island for an intense battle, signaling the first major update for Chapter 5, Season 2, which centers on Greek mythology.

However, Midas and his new look are not the only new content coming to Fortnite in this Chapter's season. The focus is on the items, weapons, and more flooding into the battle royale soon.

Fortnite's latest post on X confirms the return of Midas in its next update for Chapter 5, Season 2, with the teaser showcasing a new look for the renowned villain of the earlier chapters. The last time Fortnite brought Midas to the game was in Chapter 2, Season 2, first introduced in 2020. This chapter featured the Top Secret theme and also centered on the renowned villain.

This is thanks to Chapter 5, Season 2's new setting in this release, The Underworld, which centers more on the game's Greek mythology theme.

Alongside this, Fortnite also teased one of this season's main baddies, Hades, best known as the Greek god of the Underworld.

Leaker iFireMonkey also claimed that the returning villain would be under the "Rise of Midas" update version 29.01, featuring the iconic weapon, Drum Gun, alongside Chain of Hades, available to use in-game.

Alongside this, the 'Banana of the Gods' is also coming here, with a new item, 'Golden Chicken,' that lays golden eggs (equivalent to gold) soon made available.

The update is expected this Tuesday, March 19.

Fortnite and its Returning Experiences

Fortnite is an old game, but that does not mean it is no longer getting updates—while new updates are anticipated, many are still nostalgic and look for the previous experiences on the platform.

Last November's Fortnite OG, which featured a massive throwback to Chapter 1 Season 5's maps and other experiences, racked up 44.7 million players worldwide, with Epic calling it a success.

Other returning experiences on Fortnite are its crossovers with the likes of Marvel, DC Comics, and other renowned franchises, which get new skins and features, mostly because of new releases.

While Fortnite is not exactly recycling these content, what it offers is revamping some experiences like when it first introduced Marvel, it featured iconic Avengers heroes and villains, but the next drops centered on new content.

Like Fortnite OG, this Chapter 5 Season 2 is set to bring a similar atmosphere to its 2020 release of Midas, one that would feature his nefarious presence in the game as part of its new theme.

The Underworld awaits, with Midas providing a significant terror over Fortnite players alongside Hades and more entities looking to spread their terror in this Greek theme, with more to expect in future patches for the current season.
