Rockstar, the company behind the Grand Theft Auto franchise, has officially announced Grand Theft Auto 6 is on the way.

There are a number of features that would be great in GTA VI as we look toward the future of the franchise. Here are five we'd include if we were creating GTA VI.

1. A New Setting

Some suggest Grand Theft Auto is based on certain aspects of American culture. That, however, has been done. One thing that would be great to see in Grand Theft Auto is a completely new setting. Perhaps based in Tokyo? Or Paris? Or maybe even based on a futuristic world. In any case, we want a scenery change in GTA VI.

2. Buildings And Scenery To Interact With

The Grand Theft Auto map has gotten bigger with each release of the game. However, just because maps are bigger doesn't necessarily mean they're better.

Outside of missions, there really isn't too much to explore in the games. Making buildings more interactive and more numerous and allowing gamers to enter more buildings would add a whole new dynamic to the game and give players many more places to explore.

3. Multiple Protagonists

Having multiple protagonists in GTA 5 was a great move for Rockstar. It brought a whole new freshness to the game, while pushing forward the storyline in a whole different way. Rockstar could take this to another level by adding more than three protagonists, allowing gamers to see the GTA world through the eyes of multiple different people.

4. A Female Protagonist

Grand Theft Auto has often been criticized for treatment of women and rightly so and the attitude needs to be changed. There really aren't any females in the game with any substance or importance. Introducing strong female characters for gamers to relate would quell the criticism and make the game more interesting. Not only that, but introducing female protagonists could also help with the GTA storyline and allow for unexpected turns in the story. And it could lure more female gamers to the game.

5. More Cheat Codes

Cheat codes are great. For many gamers, simply playing the game through isn't as interesting as being able to shoot people from a flying tank or bulking up your arsenal of weapons with a rocket launcher. It would be great if Rockstar came up with some even more imaginative cheat codes, something that could really add to the fun of the game.
