The Master Chief is iconic for a number of reasons. Without Halo: Combat Evolved, the original Xbox likely wouldn't have succeeded, and Microsoft wouldn't be the video game superpower it is today. Each subsequent Halo game only got better and better - Master Chief is now synonymous with some of the best experiences anyone can have playing a game.

Of course, he wouldn't be nearly as popular without a slick wardrobe, and the Mjolnir armor is just as iconic as the Chief himself. The green-and-gold helmet is a symbol for the series, and the Chief's visage even dominated the majority of The Master Chief Collection's box art.

Now, thanks to NECA, it won't be long before you can wear the Chief's helmet yourself.

For most people, buying a motorcycle helmet is something that only happens when buying an actual motorcycle. For Halo fans, the motorcycle itself no longer matters.

It's an incredibly detailed recreation of the helmet seen in-game, and the version pictured above isn't even the final version. If the work-in-progress is this ridiculously detailed, the final retail edition will truly be a sight to behold.

To be perfectly honest (and a little nitpicky), there are some differences between the prototype and the Chief's in-game helmet: for example, the helmet's profile looks a bit rounder, and it's easier to see that it's built to be a regulation motorcycle helmet. The visor also looks a bit thinner and less rounded across the top, and the color is a little less saturated than the in-game model's. That being said, it's still ridiculously detailed for an early model, and there's plenty that could change between now and the helmet's final release.

Speaking of the final release, there's still a ways to go before you can start dressing like the Master Chief: NECA's prototype Halo helmet is set to ship in July 2015.
