A high-speed chase on foot broke out on Thursday as two suspects skillfully evaded capture. The reason for the suspects to flee their handlers were unclear but many suppose it was because they needed a day off.

The drama unfolded in the sunny city of Arizona as two llamas decided they needed a day out and went gallivanting through the streets of Phoenix surprising locals and causing an exciting stir on Twitter.

A white and a black llama took Twitterverse by storm after escaping their owners Karen Freund and Bub Bullis while packing up from a patient therapy visit at GenCare Sun City at The Carillons assisted living facility. The pair is actually part of a trio of llamas that were visiting the elderly to bring joy and needed solace to the residents.

The exhilarating pursuit began after the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call from the facility asking for assistance in capturing the wayward pair. Shortly after, the #LlamaDrama began to populate Twitter as posts and hashtags of the dynamic and agile duo came flooding in from varied sources weighing on the escapade.

Cheers and encouragements were also posted for the llamas and even a possible career change was on the horizon as The Cardinals posted this tweet, "The #AZCardinals have agreed to one-year deals with the #llamasontheloose. Each llama will earn 2,340 lbs of hay. Steve Keim does it again."

On a more serious note, and to clear the llamas from any bad objectives, the North American Aerospace Defense Command commented, "Llama had no known connections to ISIS. Appears to have self-radicalized."

The concerned and fast thinking locals all chipped in to ensure the safe return of the duo to their owners. Though there were moments were the llamas seemed too smart for their own good.

"So many times we thought we were going to get them there, and they would dart in another direction," said Jill Parsons, The senior center's executive director.

Lainey, the black llama was the first to be captured while a man in a moving pick-up carefully lassoed the white llama, Kanita. It took three men to secure the spirit llama who obviously wanted to do more explorations.

"Glad that #LlamaDrama 2015 has been peacefully resolved!" Tweeted Arizona Sen. John McCain, evidence that many of the llamas new acquired supporters were relieved they were unharmed in the incident.

No criminal charges will be filed against the llamas and their owners after the more than one hour chase.
