Although Final Fantasy Type-0 originally started as a tie-in PSP game to Final Fantasy XIII, those plans were scrapped. The game was salvaged and was given a new name that managed to become the fourth bestselling game in Japan in 2011.

While FF Type-0 for mobile never saw an official U.S. release, the game was still popular among Final Fantasy aficionados. Its storyline and combat play were well-received by gamers who welcomed the spin-off from the central Final Fantasy universe.

News of a possible sequel to the runaway mobile game is causing much buzz these days. Everybody can't wait to see what could possibly be in store for Final Fantasy Type-1. Afterall, the game was directed by Hajime Tabata who will also be leading the development of Final Fantasy XV.

A leaked cutscene from the end sequence of the upcoming U.S. launch of Type-0 HD for PS4 and Xbox One posted on YouTube by walkthrough Noob seems to point in the direction of a sequel. Tabata already previously made his desires for exploring the Type-0 characters and universe more, so the hints dropped in the video shouldn't come as too much as a surprise.

Many who are sharing the leaked ending sequence on social media are already calling it a teaser to the sequel but let's not forget that no official announcement has been made by Square Enix just yet. However, with such popular interest and clamour to have a Type-1 game release, it's only a matter of time before the company gives in.

Unfortunately, with work on Final Fantasy XV only about "60 percent finished" according to Tabata, a sequel to the Type-0 universe is still a long way off from development or reality.

In the meantime, we can watch pretty leaked videos and wait in anticipation for the HD release of Final Fantasy Type-0 on American shores.

Warning, spoilers in the video shown since it is the ending sequence of Type-0.
