The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Android 5.0 Lollipop Software update for T-Mobile is coming, as the carrier has updated its webpage to reflect that it has completed development of the new mobile operating system software for the smartphone.

It looks as if the T-Mobile Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Galaxy Note 4 is just around the corner, as the carrier has recently moved the OS update out of the manufacturer development phase and into final testing prior to its eventual release.

T-Mobile's software update page has three tiers, the first of which is manufacturer development. The Galaxy Note 4 software update has been stuck in this phase even as the carrier released the update for the year older Galaxy Note 3 and other devices.

This move frustrated anxious T-Mobile customers as they watched all the other major U.S. carriers — Sprint, Verizon and AT&T — release the update to their customers.

While the frustration isn't over — the Android 5.0 Lollipop update still hasn't been released yet — it certainly indicates that relief is coming soon, as T-Mobile has been releasing the updates in a timely fashion following movement from manufacturer development into the testing phase.

The Galaxy Note 4 is Samsung's flagship phablet, and it has been a huge success for the manufacturer. The company is expected to unveil its successor, the Note 5, this September at IFA in Berlin.

Some Galaxy Note 4 owners on competing carriers who have already received the Android 5.0 Lollipop update are already experiencing problems with the software, such as battery drain and forced reboots, so it should be interesting to see how the software works on T-Mobile's Note 4 and if those issues are addressed when it is finally released. As always, we'll keep you posted once the software is ready to download.
