Following a number of positive reviews, Samsung predicts that the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge will set record sales when they launch in 20 countries on Friday, April 10.

Samsung also sees a strong demand for the curved-screen S6 Edge model, which will cost up to $120 more than its S6 sibling. However, the brand anticipates a shortage in the pricier model and promised to work hard in order to improve production yields.

Samsung explained that the supply of its S6 Edge flagship would face future constraints because of difficulties encountered during production. Samsung's manufacturing partners had issues producing the curved glass display feature, and the yield for the glass displays dropped lower than 50 percent.

"We're working hard to resolve the difficulty in supply," said J.K. Shin, Samsung's head of mobile. He later admitted the manufacturing woes could last for a while.

Investors have shown optimism and increased confidence in the latest flagship devices from Samsung, which can be attributed to the handset's new design features and the company's decision to use its own processor and modem chips. Likewise, the company expects the high-end devices will help them win back customers and draw attention away from Apple's iPhones.

"Considering the response from the market, consumer and carriers, we expect the S6 will see record sales," said Lee Sang-Chul, executive vice president and head of mobile sales.

Since March 1, when the handsets were first unveiled, stock has increased by 9.3 percent. This led to an increase in the company's market value of about $18 billion.

Samsung has not revealed the shipment record of its handset models. It remains to be seen whether the new flagship devices will exceed the shipment record held by the Galaxy S4, the company's previous top-seller.

According to analysts at Nomura, the Galaxy S4 had an estimated shipment of 43 million since its debut in early 2013, until the latter part of the year.

The new Galaxy flagship devices are launching in 20 countries including the U.S., U.K. and Germany on Friday while consumers in China can expect the launch to begin on April 17.
