With the 1.1.2 Update, Bungie finally released a host of long-awaited features to Destiny players everywhere. More Vault space, reworked multiplayer - it's something players have been waiting on for quite a while. That being said, the patch wasn't just about addressing player complaints: the 1.1.2 Update was Bungie's way of optimizing Destiny for the upcoming DLC, House of Wolves.

Considering that the patch was a whopping 4+ GB, it's safe to assume that at least some of the House of Wolves content was included along with 1.1.2.

A few dedicated gamers came to the same conclusion, and started rooting around inside the 1.1.2 Update. Now, at this point, Destiny is almost as well-known for its leaks as...well, anything else about the game.

Seemingly every major announcement is immediately followed up by a huge content leak, but House of Wolves is Bungie's biggest piece of DLC yet - surely, the developer included some sort of safeguard to keep data miners out.

Or not: roughly 24 hours after the 1.1.2 Update went live, Reddit users uncovered a wealth of new info on Destiny's upcoming expansion.

For a long time now, the Tower has been the game's only 'Social Space.' For the uninitiated, this is where players can relax, upgrade weapons, purchase gear and interact with other players in a non-combat setting. It's been the game's only hub since launch, but that's about to change: the 'Queen's Bay' hub is located in the Reef, and serves as a way for players to access the region's new content. The 'Halls of Amentet' is the second new Social Space, though much less is known about it. Both have ties to an upcoming player-versus-player event known as 'Trials of Osiris,' though what exactly this connection is has yet to be revealed.

In terms of missions, House of Wolves' content seems to have a relatively standard: the expansion will launch with three story missions, three Quests and one new Strike titled 'The Shadow Thief.'

However, the biggest change to the formula comes with the House of Wolves 'Raid' - previously, Raids were a massive, linear gauntlet that forced players to work together or die. In House of Wolves, the Raid is being replaced with the 'Arena' mode, which sounds like something along the lines of Gears of War's 'Horde' mode. The Arena, titled 'The Prison of Elders,' has yet to be revealed, though Bungie did confirm that the mode would be revealed in early May, and that a new Raid would be released sometime later this year.

Three new PvP maps will also make their debut, as will a wealth of new ship schematics (46 in total). All in all, House of Wolves' suite of content is comparable to the last Destiny expansion, The Dark Below. It's impossible to know how the missions stack up in terms of length and content, but from a purely statistical standpoint, the two expansions are nearly identical.

It'll be interesting to see how the new Arena mode is received: one of Destiny's biggest draws is the Raids themselves, as the cooperative dungeons are one of the best ways to obtain the game's rarest gear. It's all but guaranteed that the Prison of Elders will contain a similar level of loot, but no one knows what the mode will actually play like just yet - whether or not the Arena is a worthy successor to the Raid is still anyone's guess.

Now that players know exactly what they're in for, the only thing left to do now is wait: the House of Wolves expansion will be available for download in Destiny on May 19. For a list of absolutely everything in the leak, head on over to the official Destiny subreddit.
