Samsung's Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are simply the hottest Android smartphones on the market, but they are not without problems.

One of the annoying issues that literally keeps appearing on both smartphones is a terms and conditions popup that prevents users from permanently getting rid of it. Instead, the phone keeps showing it up every few minutes, taking up the entire space of the entire 5.1 inches of screen on both Samsung flagships and disrupting the user from whatever he is doing on his smartphone.

The frustrating experience seems to take place mostly on T-Mobile's Galaxy S6 Edge, although at least one user has reported that his T-Mobile Galaxy S6 also has the same problem, according to user reports on Reddit and the XDA developers' forum.

The popup is for Samsung's Enhanced Features component, which includes Profile Sharing and Simple Sharing. The popup asks for the user's permission to enable both features, which will allow Samsung to collect private and sensitive information, including the user's phone number, messages and his contacts. Apparently, Samsung is adamant about getting all this information, since declining the terms and conditions will simply bring the popup back after a few minutes.

One user, complaining about the problem on XDA, says he contacted a Samsung customer representative only to be told that the only way to dismiss the popup for good was to accept the terms and conditions, which is of course unacceptable for people who don't want to share sensitive information with Samsung.

Thankfully, Galaxy S6 user Robert Ray appears to have the solution. In the Contacts app, users will see the option to shut off profile sharing by tapping on their own profile. Under the profile sharing menu, users will find Registered information at the bottom of the list and should simply tap that option to de-register their phone number to stop it from profile sharing.

On good devices, this will easily turn off profile sharing and simple sharing and will stop the popup from coming back again. However, some users have reported that their phones crash when they reach the profile sharing menu, which might be why the popup keeps appearing even when dismissed several times before.

Until then, Samsung says it is looking into the matter and will release an update that will fix the issue when it has found one.

"We'd like to send this concern for further review to investigate why you're unable to decline when there is an option to decline," says a Samsung customer support representative in response to Ray's complaint. "Please visit us every now and then to check for updates, we will give a notification once an update becomes available."
