Usually, Microsoft's weekly Deals With Gold sale are centered around a core theme. Maybe there's a big holiday coming up, and a number of themed games or DLC is available for cheap. Maybe there's a big game coming up, and the previous games in the series get discounted. Sometimes, there's a running narrative theme throughout the games that are on sale.

This week, however, is different.

While there are bound to be at least a few similarities between the games, few would ever think that Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and Dragon Age Inquisition would ever share a spot on the same sale page. They're both great games, no one's arguing that, but...why exactly are they being discounted together?

And, if you thought that Microsoft pairing Metal Gear and Dragon Age together was weird, just wait until you see the rest of what this week's Deals with Gold are offering up:

So, Metal Gear and Dragon Age is a bizarre mix, but what about Metal Gear, Dragon Age, Jet Car Stunts and Dragon Ball Z? It's almost as if someone tacked a bunch of games up onto a dartboard, closed their eyes and let fate decide what was going on sale.

That being said, no one's going to complain about cheap games: the Xbox One versions Dragon Age Inquisition and Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes are both half-off, with the rest of the Metal Gear franchise on Xbox 360 also seeing a 50 percent discount. The same holds true for the Xbox 360 Dragon Age games.
