PlayStation 4 (PS4) users will welcome the news that Sony has promised to push out the patch for Ultra Street Fighter IV next week.

Gamers have been experiencing technical issues with Ultra Street Fighter IV since its release on PS4 on March 26. The problems include a lot of lag on both online and offline gameplay, the menus being slow to load, jagged textures and technical glitches. Users reported issues in downloading the day-one patch, and there were also problems with the game's graphics and audio.

The bugs ultimately led to Capcom removing Ultra Street Fighter IV from the 2015 Capcom Pro Tour till the issue was sorted out.

With a patch to fix the problems set to roll out shortly, Ultra Street Fighter IV fans will be able to breathe easy.

On Saturday, May 30, Sony took to Twitter to announce that the patch for the PS4 game is anticipated to "land next week." The company did not divulge any other details, such as which issues would be addressed by the impending patch.

On Thursday, May 28, PlayStation's Director of Third Party Production & Developer Relations Gio Corsi also announced via tweet that Sony was looking to submit a patch for the game for PS4 for certification and release. However, Corsi did not reveal what changes the patch would bring or when the patch would be made available to gamers. Corsi also promised to keep gamers in the loop as the patches were being tested.

Now with Sony confirming that the patch to fix the bugs will roll out soon, Ultra Street Fighter IV fans will be hoping that Capcom reconsiders its decision and the game will be flawless when EVO 2015 arrives.
