A new patch coming for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt should fix a few ongoing issues players recently reported during gameplay.

One major bug in The Witcher 3 is a problem earning XP with missions in the game six levels or lower than the player's current level. PC players receive a patch today that fixes that bug, with console patches coming later this week.

Game developer CD Projekt Red recently announced this on the official The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt forums. After announcing a fix for the issue, the developer posted that the XP bug wasn't a serious one.

"First of all, it doesn't impact the game balance in any significant way," writes CD Projekt Red. "Also, you will be able to finish the game with your character achieving a level within the threshold we had in mind when we designed the game."

The developer also pointed out that if a quest is too low for a player's level, that will also sometimes result in the game offering less or no XP. However, for those players affected by the bug, CD Projekt Red wants to help.

"We are also looking into the possibility of gaining the missing XP retroactively by the players," writes CD Projekt Red. "Can't promise anything here though."

An update for PC and consoles will arrive today that takes care of a host of other issues. According to the forums, the new patches will fix certain specific problems. The patch improves performance and game stability and fixes specific quest problems and other issues reported by players. Today's update will also finally keep Geralt from interacting with candles while attempting to loot chests, a minor annoyance, but a problem, nonetheless.

The update will also increase frame rate on the Xbox One to 30fps, something gamers began demanding since the game released. PS4 users should also see better frame rates with the new patch. However, if players wish for a lesser frame rate on their consoles, if they apply the patch, they're stuck at 30fps and cannot downgrade (although who would want to?).

CD Projekt Red promises to continue updating the game as players report issues and have devoted the next two years to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt before focusing on their next title, Cyberpunk 2077.

The Witcher 3 players can expect update 1.04/1.05 sometime today.
