Apple and Samsung have been going at it for what seems like forever, and the rivalry between the two companies has resulted in creative marketing ploys. One such ad, recently released, showcases the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge's so-called superiority over the iPhone 6.

The ad campaign compares some of the Galaxy S6 Edge's and iPhone 6's features, such as their remote charging capabilities, message and alert display features and even their ability to take selfie pictures. The overall message of Samsung is that their S6 Edge is greater than the iPhone 6.

Let's go over some of the differences showcased in the ad:

- The Galaxy S6 Edge has a flexible OLED display wrapping partially around both sides of the handset. A specialized UI has a clever feature that of renders visual cues and interactive content along strips of the screen. The UI alert flashes different colors on the curved bits of the screen even when the handset is facedown. It can also display messages and other information on its side edge.

- The iPhone 6 vibrates. However, it is fair to say that the ad did not mention Apple's LED alert accessibility option.

- The Galaxy S6 Edge's 5 megapixel, 120-degree front camera can take wide-angle selfies, while the iPhone 6's 1.2 megapixel camera only does 1,280 by 980 pixel shots.

- Samsung also boasts of its quick wireless charging capability, while Apple is slowly getting to this feature.

The YouTube ad's caption boasts: "The edge of the Galaxy S6 Edge tells you everything you want to know, and you don't even need to lift to a finger."

With the ad closing with 6>6, Samsung is clearly sending a strong message, and it might just do the trick in getting more people curious enough to check out for themselves what the fuss is all about with the S6 Edge.
Whether you are a diehard iPhone user or a straight-laced Samsung fan, the ad is interesting to watch and perhaps more interesting is to see how Apple will respond.
