The Galaxy A7, launched earlier this year, is Samsung's thinnest smartphone to date. Possessing a dimension of 5.9 by 3 by 0.25 inches (151 by 76.2 by 6.3 millimeters) and a weight of 141 grams, the new handset features a 5.5-inch display, 1080 by 1920 pixels and runs on an octa-core Exynos 5430 processor. Though sleek, the A7 is absolutely the larger and more powerful sibling of the Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5.

The Galaxy A7 is yet to have an official release from Samsung in North America. However, the latest report says that customers who want to get their hands on the device can start purchasing it from Amazon. Priced as low as $444, U.S. customers are also given the privilege to have their purchase shipped right at their doorstep.

Other retailers in Amazon are selling the device at even the lower prices of $441.90, $442 and $442.43. Some will say that only one stock is left while another store will say that there are 17 available items for purchase.

Currently, the device comes in white option and offers support for HSDPA and dual-SIM. Other notable spec features include 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 64GB using the device's microSD slot, 13MP rear camera (4128 by 3096 pixel resolution), 5MP front camera, 2600 mAh battery which is similar to the Galaxy S6 Edge's, and Android 4.4.4 KitKat.

Last month, the Galaxy A7 also started to receive the Android Lollipop update.

While the device sold in Amazon does not feature LTE and instead comes with HSDPA support, it should therefore be noted that the Galaxy A7 is also compatible with T-Mobile and AT&T.

Now that the Galaxy A7 is available in the U.S. through Amazon, U.S. customers are now in a dilemma on choosing between the device and the new Galaxy S6 Active which launched only recently and will start to go on sale on June 12. Both have 5MP front cameras and are updated with Android Lollipop. However, the Galaxy A7 is a sleek handset while the S6 Active is designed with rugged and bigger build features.

While Amazon says that the stock is currently available in white, hopefully customers who are not keen on having a white device may be able to purchase it in other colors as well. Apart from white, the Galaxy A7 is reportedly available in other color options such as deep dark blue and champagne.
