Lamborghini President and CEO Stephan Winkelmann formally announces that the Italian-based car manufacturer will launch a roadster model of its Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce Coupe after it displayed a lightning U.K. debut performance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend. Expectedly named as the Aventador LP 750-4 SuperVeloce Roadster, the company plans to build a limited 500 units that could be more expensive than the coupe model.

With an exclusive price of almost half-a-million U.S. dollars, all the Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce coupe variant's 600 units have been sold and its initial deliveries had already started, according to a statement of Winkelmann on the British event. He then confirmed that authorized dealers around the world are presently taking orders for the Aventador LP 750-4 SuperVeloce roadster.

Branded as the most pure and sports-oriented among Lamborghini's creations, the Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce accelerates from 0 to 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) in 2.8 seconds and reaches the maximum speed of more than 217 mph (349 km/h). Compared to Lamborghini's previous generation Aventador LP 700-4, the company's engineering team has boosted the new Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce's power output by 50 horsepower and has taken off 110 pounds (50 kilograms) on its overall weight.

Featured in the Geneva motor show earlier this year, Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce coupe boasts of a retuned version of the Lamborghini's 6.5-liter V12 engine and packs a seven-speed automated manual transmission and a standard all-wheel drive. No other clues for the roadster version specs, but most likely will equip the same engine and features.
