Back in the late '80s, the idea of bringing a superhero to the big screen in a serious manner was basically unheard of. Most previous efforts to bring Marvel's or DC's to the screen were horrendous, but then it happened: Tim Burton released Batman, and it wasn't long before the thought of a campy, kid-friendly Dark Knight seemed like an outdated relic.

Burton's Batman '89 helped shape what the character would look like for years to come, and it's often cited as one of the most influential works of the Dark Knight's long career. While the movie itself may have aged a bit, there's no arguing the impact it had on one of DC's biggest characters outside of the comics themselves.

With Batman: Arkham Knight's latest piece of DLC, it looks like Rocksteady is paying homage to the film that helped change Batman. As part of the game's Season Pass, players will be able to download both the Batsuit and Batmobile from the 1989 film!

Compared with some of the game's other DLC skins, the Batman '89 costume is spot-on. True, it's far from the most complex suit that the Dark Knight has ever worn, but seeing that bright yellow Bat symbol is pure, nostalgic bliss.

That being said, the real star of the show is the Batmobile: again, Batman '89 was a huge influence on the character's look for years, and nowhere is that more evident than the sleek, art deco-esque Batmobile. The Batman: Arkham Knight version looks to be incredibly accurate (though how it'll turn into a tank is anyone's guess), and anyone who's grown tired of the armored-up tanks of recent years should definitely be excited to tear through Gotham in one of the best Batmobiles ever.

Of course, that's not the only DLC planned for August: Rocksteady is also releasing the Bat-Family Pack, which consists of six different alternate costumes for Batman, Catwoman, Robin and Nightwing:

- '70s Batman
- Iconic Grey & Black Batman
-Arkham Origins Batman
- '90s Catwoman
- Original Arkham Nightwing
- One Year Later Robin

If you don't want to wait until August for more DLC, Batman: Arkham Knight's first story-based DLC, A Matter of Family, is set for release on July 21.
