While you can dim the lights to set a romantic mood, other occasions call for different types of mood lighting. So the creative mind at ilumi created a new LED smart lightbulb that helps enhance and complement just about any mood by changing the lighting color of the room.

There are already LED lightbulbs on the market that come in various colors, but the new ilumi smart bulb allows the users to choose from a few different colors so they don't have to go out and buy separate bulbs.

The team at ilumi previously saw success with its smart bulb thanks to a Kickstarter campaign back in 2013. And now it has launched another campaign to provide consumers with an even better bulb that has a longer range of 150 feet, improved performance and connectivity, and a more appealing design.

The company introduced two new smart bulbs, the A19 Standard that is equipped with 80 lumen and 10 watts, and the BR30 Flood, equipped with 1,150 lumen and 14 watts. Both bulbs have Bluetooth SmartMesh technology to work via wireless control, with flash memory and a real-time clock for stored settings.

The company also revamped the ilumi app to make setting the mood even easier. The app lets the user change room lighting to every color in the rainbow, and helps you choose the best color for a particular room such as the office or the living room.

The updated app will be available to the public to download on iOS and Android devices in November. However, the company will make upgrades to its current app with an August release that works with the new bulb and will include IFTTT technology that can work with Nest.

When you are feeling down, you can adjust the color of the light to lift your spirits. Consumers can rise and shine with a personal sunrise, or use the wellness mode to use lighting that will support the body's rhythm.

The app suggests lighting colors based on various atmosphere such as when throwing a party or relaxing. Users can also sync their music to have the smart bulbs change color to the beat of the song.

The user can also take a photo of their room and have the smart bulb take care of finding the perfect lighting.

The ilumi smart bulb can also sense the user's smartphone based on proximity to turn lights on or off, so that the user doesn't have to hit a switch. When on vacation, the consumer can also have their lights turn on and off while they are away.

The smart bulbs are energy efficient, and are said to last for up to 20 years. The ilumi smart bulbs have a starter price of $29. Ilumi Solutions has surpassed its $50,000 goal on Kickstarter with $69,656 donated thus far with 20 days still to go.
