The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus has been the subject of plenty of rumors, but it is only now that we have seen what could be Samsung's upcoming dual-curved smartphone slated for release next month.

What could be the very first image of the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus has surfaced online via German website All About Samsung. The image shows a dummy model of the upcoming handset placed next to the Galaxy Note 4, and it appears that the S6 Edge Plus is just around the same size as Samsung's current-generation phablet, which is not surprising at all, since rumors about the S6 Edge Plus peg it at a display size of 5.7 inches, the same as the Galaxy Note 4.

Other than the larger display, the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus appears to be just like the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, with both phones having the same curved screens, a physical home button and the familiar squarish housing for the rear camera.

The latest reports claim the S6 Edge Plus will run on a Snapdragon 808 SoC from Qualcomm and will have 32 GB of internal storage. The handset will sport a 2,560 x 1,440 Quad HD Super AMOLED display, a 16 MP rear camera underneath the squarish housing and a 5 MP shooter in front.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) itself has leaked details about the S6 Edge Plus for the Verizon and AT&T variants. Model numbers SM-G928V and SM-G928A have made their way to the commission last week. This was followed by another pair of variants that are compatible with LTE bands 2, 4, 5 and 12, which are used for T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular's networks.

The Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is expected to be officially unveiled by Samsung on August 12, along with the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, touted to be the first smartphone to have PC-like capabilities with a 4 GB RAM, and possibly the Samsung Gear A, Samsung's rumored next smartwatch.

Samsung has reportedly pulled back its usual launch date to mid-August ahead of its yearly device launches normally scheduled for September at IFA in Berlin. However, reports claim Samsung is moving the launch of its new products earlier this year to break away from the shadow of Apple's iPhone 6s launch expected in the same month.
